ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT error

ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT means your browser tried to reach the site but the server never answered in time. In plain terms, the request went out and nothing came back, so the browser gave up. The site itself may be running, yet it stays unreachable for you or is simply too slow to accept the connection.

What causes it

Most often the site's server is to blame: it is overloaded, down, or a firewall is silently dropping requests. Less often the problem is on the visitor's side, like a slow connection, a VPN, or ISP-level blocking.

How to fix it

1. Check whether the site is down only for you: open it over mobile data or use the availability checker below.
2. Reload the page and try another browser or an incognito window to rule out the cache.
3. Temporarily disable any VPN, proxy, and blocking extensions, since they often cut the connection.
4. If the site is yours, check server load and CPU limits in cPanel and restart the web server (LiteSpeed/Apache).
5. Make sure a firewall or security module is not blocking visitor IPs and that ports 80 and 443 are open.
6. If nothing helps, contact your hosting support with the exact time and your IP address.
