DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NO_INTERNET error

DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NO_INTERNET means the browser couldn't reach any DNS server because it sees no internet connection. Chrome tried to look up the site's address, but the link to the network itself is down or dropped. This is almost always a problem on your device or router, not the website.

What causes it

The cause is usually local: Wi-Fi or the cable dropped, the router hung, your ISP's DNS is unreachable, or a VPN or firewall is cutting the connection. The website itself is rarely involved.

How to fix it

  1. Check that you have internet at all: open any other site or app.
  2. Restart the router and your device: power off for 20-30 seconds, then back on.
  3. Switch between Wi-Fi and cable, or to mobile data, to rule out one connection.
  4. Flush the DNS cache (Windows: ipconfig /flushdns) and set a public DNS like 1.1.1.1 or 8.8.8.8.
  5. Temporarily turn off VPN, proxy and firewall, then try again.
  6. If your network is fine but the site still won't open, check its DNS records with the tool below.
